As attendees, the team had the chance to dive into the latest AWS announcements, explore new services, and gain insights into the future of cloud, AI, and security.

Beyond the keynotes and technical sessions, re:Invent was an opportunity to connect with AWS experts, partners, and customers from around the globe. Bulgaria hosted its first-ever AWS DeepRacer event, organized in partnership with Several Clouds. The full-day program at NDK, Hall 6, offered participants a unique opportunity to explore machine learning through an engaging and interactive racing competition.

Participants—from complete beginners to experienced professionals—developed and trained their own ML models before putting them to the test in head-to-head autonomous car races. Beyond the thrill of competition, the event served as a practical introduction to applied machine learning, showcasing its real-world potential in an accessible way.

In October 2024, Several Clouds organized the 2nd edition of AWS Community Day Bulgaria, the country’s biggest independent AWS conference. The event brought together hundreds of cloud builders, engineers, students, and business leaders for a full day of learning, inspiration, and community connection.

The program featured community-driven talks, hands-on sessions, and real-world case studies that showed how AWS is shaping the future of technology in Bulgaria. Beyond the technical content, the event created a space where developers exchanged ideas, students met mentors, and businesses found new partners.

By hosting AWS Community Day, Several Clouds helped strengthen Bulgaria’s tech ecosystem, proving once again that when knowledge is shared openly, the entire community grows stronger together.

Hosted by Team-GPT & AI Engineer Foundation Europe (AIE.F), together with Iris.ai and Appolica, the biggest AI hackathon in Bulgaria gathered 184 participants who created 33 projects with the support of mentors, judges, and sponsors.

At AWS re:Inforce 2024, Daniel Rankov from Several Clouds joined the global security community as a speaker and AWS Hero. The event was a valuable opportunity to connect with other AWS Heroes and community leaders, exchange knowledge, and explore the latest advancements in cloud security.

One of the most exciting takeaways was the use of Generative AI with Amazon Bedrock + Agents to summarize, collect context, and respond to security incidents—an approach that signals the beginning of a major shift in how security operations are managed.

Daniel also had the honor of leading two sessions (COM421 + repeat), where he shared lessons learned from managing hundreds of AWS accounts at scale. His contribution reinforced Several Clouds’ role in advancing best practices in security and cloud operations within both the global AWS community and the Bulgarian tech ecosystem.
