Solution
The process begins with an initial assessment of the existing setups to design the most effective strategy and approach. Several Clouds’ team adopts a phased approach, dividing the project into three stages. The solution starts with defining and importing Payrexx’s stateless and stateful resources into Terraform, directly from the existing environments. This method guarantees a seamless migration with zero downtime by avoiding the need for resource recreation. CI/CD pipelines enforce infrastructure best practices, including automated validation, formatting, and safeguards to prevent misconfigurations, ensuring secure and consistent deployments. Supporting documentation is also developed to provide clarity and maintain a well-structured infrastructure framework.
The next step focuses on migrating the second product environment, using the same structured process as before. By maintaining consistency in resource imports, CI/CD pipeline implementation, and thorough documentation, the team ensures both environments are delivered efficiently, securely, and in line with Payrexx’s high standards.
In the final phase, the focus shifts to optimizing the platforms by centralising infrastructure management and enhancing security. To enhance governance and operational efficiency, targeted improvements are implemented across Payrexx’s environments. These include measures to protect sensitive data, align infrastructure management with best practices, and optimize deployment workflows. Security and compliance are reinforced with stronger data protection mechanisms and refined resource organization, while deployment processes are streamlined to deliver consistent and efficient updates.
